Pros of the First Look
Updated: Aug 11, 2021
A first look is when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day which makes for an emotional photo opportunity. While this is not the most traditional option, it does have its benefits.

More time to enjoy your day
By opting for a first look, you can get a lot of photos taken before the ceremony that you’d traditionally take afterwards. During this time, you can take most of your family portraits, fun photos with your court and dreamy shots with your partner. You can also choose a variety of spaces offered by your venue so they are all different; something important to check off your list when choosing a venue (more to come on this in a future blog post). This allows you more time later to enjoy your reception!

Quiet Time
By getting the time consuming portraits out of the way before your ceremony, you can schedule some quiet time with your spouse before all eyes are on you at the reception. It gives you both a moment to cheers to your new union, have a drink and share some appetizers before your big entrance! Some couples near even get to taste the appetizers they so carefully selected because they are rushing around during cocktail hour!!

Emotional Photo Opportunity
Most importantly, the first look allows you an opportunity to get some raw-emotion photos taken. You’ll forget all about the cameras while you’re sharing such a special moment together and that creates the most beautiful memories for your album! During this time, you can share some words, hug, and soak in the beauty of the day together before the nerve-wreaking walk down the aisle.
